I like to visualize our presence in this universe as threads, running from one end to another, each of the same length as that of our lives. To picture a person's lifetime, I see thousands of these multi–colored threads against a white background. For most part, a thread runs straight, unfettered but sometimes another thread crosses this one, defining a point in time when a person becomes associated with an event or is affected by its consequences. Today, I want to talk about two such events that crisscrossed a hundred other threads. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...Like the autonomic nervous system of a giant, our setup included over twenty five thousand network switches and thousands of miles of cabling, which would soon carry VoIP (Voice Over IP) phone data from over 6,000 telephones and digitized security video from over 20,000 CCTV cameras. Baggage handling systems, which were the largest in the world, with 90km long conveyor belts, would talk to each other, through our networks, to find the most efficient path to move belongings. Even passenger preferences and on–demand movies would be wirelessly transmitted to parked aircrafts, via our networks. My job was to ensure that this network was delivered. Using a team of 20 engineers, and over 40 technicians, we approached the work with a strong plan. The next few months saw the network switches being installed and the cabling work completed. The backbone was ready for the various vendors to plug their systems into but that was where we hit a roadblock. There were no less than 200 vendors, represented by over 100 nationalities and until this point each team had worked in isolation, chipping away at their share of the work, giving life to their part of this gargantuan machine.
