Abstract
Additive manufacturing, usually mentioned as 3D printing, has the potential to greatly accelerate innovation, reduces supply chains, reduces materials and energy usage, and lower the waste.
Originally developed at ... This paper describes the core technology and its wide applications.
Additive manufacturing, usually referred as 3D printing, is a new method manufacturing products and parts from a digital model. Like an office printer that puts 2D digital files on a sheet of paper, a 3D printer creates parts by depositing thin layers of material one after another ,only where needed , using a digital blueprint till the whole part has been created.
Additive machines can now use metals, polymers, composites, or some other powders to "print" a variety of useful parts, layer by layer, as well as complex structures that can't be manufactured by other processes.
By eliminating production steps and using very less material, 'additive' processes are able to lower waste and save over 500th of energy compared to today's 'subtractive' manufacturing processes, and reduce material prices by up to ninetieth. the utilization of additive manufacturing can potentially benefit a large number of industries as well as defense, automotive, biomedical, consumer products, and metals manufacturing and Even
