a. Aerosols: Aerosols are stable suspensions of solids or liquid particles in air, these can be in the form of dust, fogs, mists, fibers, fumes, and smoke. Aerosols can vary in particle size, and due to the varying size of aerosols, they can be found in multiple areas of the respiratory tract. Aerosols are can be generated many different ways such as from a burning material, a liquid that is boiling, sand–blasting, sweeping, condensation, and evaporation.
