The five fields of social studies are culture, economics, geography, government, and history. They all have a huge impact on our country. Some even combine and effect the country. When you hear the word government you usually think of the capitol building or the white house in Washington, D.C.. Government can be defined by the people involved, the system in place, or the process in use. History is the study of the past. All developed countries have their National Archives and a historical profession, both paid for out of taxpayers' money. Those who study history, for career purposes, or just personal enjoyment, have other reasons apart from this all–embracing justification for natural resources being channeled into the study of history. History happens each and every day and changes the country. It can also affect the way we see the United States. Even the smallest things can change an entire nation.
