I am going to explore the topic of having a "life less ordinary" and I'm going to tell you about a person who has had and is living a "life less ordinary". His name is Casey Neistat.

Before I get to telling you about Casey Neistat, I'm going to talk about a problem I have been having for a while. (don't worry it is relevant) I'm 17 turning 18 and most of you are around this age too. We are starting to figure out and choose what we want to do and what job we want when we leave school. We are asked huge questions like "What do you want to do with the rest of your life?" It's almost like people are asking us "Whats the perfect career you want and you have to decide right now so you can have a perfect life" No I'm just exaggerating but sometimes ... The first clip is from his most recent viral video "Snowboarding with the NYPD" The next is from "Aladdin prank" and the last is "Make It Count". I kind of wish I could just sit here and show you all of his videos because they are so good. He has made movies like this for Nike, Samsung (which he got to go to the Oscars for btw) , He co–produced a film that screened at the Cannes film festival in 2008 and another he was involved in , in 2009, he had a tv show with 8 episodes with his brother on HBO. Now all of this is amazing and exactly and partly why he falls into the "life less ordinary" category. But before all this he grew up mostly just like one of us. He grew up in a quiet Connecticut town and he didn't like school. He was a pretty bad kid and got in trouble a lot. [draw my life video]. He dropped out of high school when he was 15 and he lived in a trailer park with his girlfriend.. and then his girlfriend became pregnant. He was poor, very dirt poor. He was a dishwasher in a seafood restaurant for years. He started filming his sons early childhood when he was 18 and that's where the passion for filming started. By telling these little stories about his son Owen he felt like he had a voice. He decided to leave and live in New York City in june of 2001, it was a dream he had while living in the trailer park, not because he was going to New York to become a filmmaker but because New York was the dream. In 2003 his ipod the very first ipod's battery died, obviously technology was different and the battery would only last 1 and a half years. He got angry about it so he made a small film called "ipods dirty secret" and it went viral. That's when everything started to skyrocket for him.
