Ms. Clause is able to receive services at SEK–CAP CHOICES because she falls under the poverty line. Ms. Clause has a vision card, gets assistance from public housing, and receives child care subsidy and support which helps her qualify for SEK–CAP CHOICES services. Ms. Clause is a single African American mother. She also considers herself Hispanic. She is twenty–six years old and works full time in Joplin. Ms. Clause attended some college before she dropped out. She has two children, her daughter Amber is nine years old and her son Aaron is four years old, both African American and Hispanic. Ms. Clause's son is the one attending SEK–CAP CHOICES because he is age eligible for services.

Diversity Issues

When working with this client one has to consider that she is a single African American mother. She also works full time in Joplin while living in Pittsburg so she travels a lot. Her work schedule also changes all the time and is not very consistent.

Case Goals

Ms. Clause's family goal is support for her. Her son Aaron has been showing some very aggressive behavior at home and she has come to the point where she has no idea what to do. The first step was for her to fill out behavioral incident reports to see if there was any rhyme or reason to his outburst.
