Descriptive Essay On Classic Rock
Classic rock is overrated. In this world, there are millions of die–hard fans, but there are also those that cringe at the words "classic rock." I was one of them. As a teenager in this century, I prefer to listen to pop or anything mainstream and upbeat. I knew there was a handful of classic rock bands; one of them was Aerosmith. I have never heard of Aerosmith's music and did not plan on giving it a try. But after a first–hand experience, I realized that a personal experience could craft one's musical taste.
My musical taste was altered by a single car ride. It was about two years ago when my current boyfriend picked me up for our first date. As the car pulls up, I could hear his radio: I mentally conceived to myself "What did I get myself into?" The musical composition that started playing as I got into the car was "Dream On" by Aerosmith. At first, I was sitting on the passenger side praying for it to stop and hoping that my boyfriend would change the station. I did not realize that thirty–six seconds went by. Not prepared for what was about to happen, Steven Tyler's voice hit me like a brick wall. In fact, for the rest of the musical composition, I did not think of anything else. I was mesmerized by the song. After the date, I went home and repeatedly replayed the song.
If someone asked me "Who is Aerosmith?" two years ago I would have responded with "I don't know and why would I?" But as of right now I would verbalize that they are one of the greatest rock and roll
