Grace. A concept hard for many to grasp, yet alone to live by it daily. However, it seems to come easy for Allison Grace Cobb. Piercing blue eyes, sandy hair and the most contagious smile. These attributes are only surface deep, but there is one thing that runs through to her core. Called Gracie by her peers, she radiates the beautiful concept of grace. There have been two definite experiences in her past that seem to be the common thread in her life continually weaved by God's grace. The first and most painful stitch occurred at the age of 10. Young Gracie witnessed her granddad, better known as Paw–Paw, take his last breath. "He was one of my best friends. I loved him and went to see him all the time." Paw–Paw was diagnosed with cancer in January, and by the end of February he had passed away. "I had been warned, and I was with him almost every day as he got sick." You might expect someone in this situation to experience anger and shock over this sudden death. This was not the case with Gracie. She was blessed, for the first time, with God's grace. "It [his death] gave me closure and made me grow up. I feel like if I hadn't watched him take his last breath I wouldn't have handled it the way I did."

Through our friendship she has not only opened up about her past experiences, but also allowed me to do the same which created common ground. I too struggle deeply with anxiety. Learning from Gracie's past, I have recently become more open about my struggles with my family and close friends. Through doing this, I no longer feel isolated with my anxieties; instead, it is a shared burden. Communication is wide open, and I know I can run to Gracie with confidence that she will never turn me away. I, like many others, confide in her.
