Over the course of the semester reading books like "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and "Kingdom of This World" by Alejo Carpentier have revealed another way of seeing the world. Realities of life can be revealed by what an author writes, and how they write it. The last few months have opened a door to a new perspective. That perspective is one shaped by similar forces that shape my own. The difference comes around by way of being on the receiving end of the expansion. For that reason, the biggest takeaways from this class are pieces of that different perspective.
