Michael Jordan. I would like to talk about Michael Jordan. I think that most of you know who he is, but if you don't, he is currently a retired basketball player. He is known as the greatest basketball player of all time. And he once said: "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game–winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. That is why I succeed."



And that is what my speech is going to be about today. Failure. Because failure broadens my horizon, and hopefully yours too.

Lastly, failure is the stepping stone to eventual success. Each mistake that you make is a step. It's a step to your goal. It's a step to your dream. It's a step to your aspiration. He was interviewed by a reporter who asked: "How does it feel to fail 10,000 times?" And Thomas Edison replied by saying "I haven't failed. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps."



So, don't dwell on your past mistakes. Accept them and move on. Challenge yourself and you never know where it might lead you too. To end my speech, I would like to use a quote by Robert F. Kennedy. He once said: "Only those who ever dare to fail greatly, can achieve greatly." I don't know what my greatly is yet, but I'd like to believe everyone has the potential to achieve great things.
