Introduction Plagiarism is using other's ideas and words and not acknowledging and giving credit to them. It is a serious violation of Academic Integrity. In the past, many high–profiles people are exposed for this academic misconduct. Reasons for plagiarism are many and the consequences that come along with it are a matter of concern. With the advancement of technology plagiarism is not easy detectable, but institutions are putting more effort in controlling this dire situation by implementing policies and procedures. These violations are taken seriously, and measures are taken to inform the students beforehand so there will be no excuse left for not knowing. Sheridan is one of the best example of institutions who laid out a systematic procedure to make its policy clear, and remove any ambiguity related to any form of cheating. Sheridan College expects that his students claim credit for their own work; therefore, created a step by step academic integrity policy and procedure to follow by the Faculty members and the students.
