Hammurabi's code is one of the oldest decoded writings in the world. The code is filled with 282 laws and was written on a stele, in addition, it was placed in a temple for all to see. It was the first code of laws that applied to everyone, not just the rich or the poor. Hammurabi was the king of the Babylon empire, his code was one of the major achievements of his empire. The code was written as an eye for an eye code, and it's basically what it sounds like. This means if someone does something wrong, they should be punished by having to pay the same price.
