Crime and murder are not rare occurrences in the world today. It happens all the time, and we see such cases all over the news. Not only do we witness the true accounts of this in our world, but such cases are portrayed all over the media. Murder mystery cases are seen in books, television shows and video games. In And Then There Were None, ten people are trapped on an island and one of them is the murderer. In the episode "Omnivore" of Criminal Minds, George Foyet, comes out of hiding after ten years to start killing again (Davis). Many people respond favorably to these kinds of viewing experiences; each character is different and different motives exist for those who commit the crimes. There was a way to know someone would die next in each type of murder mystery. In the short story an Indian figure would go missing. Mr. Rogers stated "It's those little figures, sir. In the middle of the table. The little china figures. Ten of them, there were. I'll swear to that, ten of them" (Christie 51). George Foyet from Criminal Minds would take an item from who he would kill next, and leave it with the most recent body (Davis). Also, both have a character that use to be in the military. Philip Lombard, General MacArthur and David Rossi have military experience. The time in which these were created come from different time periods. In And Then There Were None all the victims were trapped on an island, and had no way of getting out. Vera Claythorne noticed how the death goes along with the poem, and points it out several times throughout the story (Christie). In the television show, the victims were killed at random, throughout the city of Brooklyn (Davis).
