Picking Cotton, by Jennifer Thompson–Cannino and Ronald Cotton (with Erin Torneo) was chosen as the Common Reading Experience book for the 2015–2016 Freshman class under UNCP's First Year Initiatives Program.
There are a lot of lessons to be learned from the experiences of Thompson–Cannino and Cotton.
