John Adams is a very important person in the history of the United States. He was the leader of the American Revolution. He also was the second President of the United States from 1797 to 1801. Mr. Adams went to Harvard and became a lawyer. He was a smart, arrogant, frank and patriotic human being. He became a critic of Great Britain's authority. In the 1770's he was a delegate to the Continental Congress. In the 1780's, Mr. Adams helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris. That treaty ended the American Revolutionary War, which lasted from 1775 to 1783. Mr. Adams was the country's first Vice President and the country's second President.
