Playing with the diamond ring on her left hand while driving with the right one, Louise's mind was on the upcoming luncheon and not on her driving. While driving by the park, she didn't see the ball bouncing across the grass nor the boy and dog chasing it until they were in the street. Looking up Louise slammed her brakes as she hit the dog. Stopping the car, she saw the boy kneeling in the middle of the street sobbing and hugging the dog. "You're a dumb ass. Don't you have sense enough to put it on a leash," she yelled.
