Having lived ten years in Sudan and six years in the United Arab Emirates, I have therefore developed very strong concise opinions about both countries. Sudan being located in Africa and the United Arab Emirates located in the Middle East share some similarities and difference which will be shown through talking about each country's tradition, economy and architecture and rituals. I believe the quality of living in the UAE is of higher standards, due to the advancements made in its infrastructure, economy and education.
In Sudan there are around 114 languages being spoken there but the most dominant language being Arabic. The official language spoken in the UAE is also Arabic. In Sudan it is usual to enquire about one's family and health when meeting someone and shaking one's hand is usually sufficient with a hug as for the UAE "asalamu alaikom" (peace be upon you) is said and is replied with " wa alaikom asalam" ( and peace be upon you too). In the UAE locals exchange greetings by softly shaking hands and touching rubbing their noses together.
Sudan is a country known for its kind, generous and hospitable people especially towards their guests who visit their humble homes. The traditional clothing worn by Sudanese men is the "jalabiya" a long loose fitting usually white colored worn with a "taqiya" which is a round cap.
